Today, we had a run up Nojeokbong (one of Bukhansan's many minor peaks ), for the spectacular views it offers of, simultaneously, Baekundae, Insubong and Mangyeongdae.
As we took our photos, I noticed a tree had been snapped in a couple of places.
It looked like it had been purposely broken, and not done particularly cleanly or well. From the position where the tree stands, my assumption is that the branches had been broken to allow a clearer view of the neighbouring 3 peaks.
In this particular instance, there are other places you could put yourself in order to get an unimpeded view.
Regardless, my views on this are: if a tree or bush is blocking your view, or spoiling your 'photo op', tough luck!
